Enterprise Architect Architecture Governance & Assurance

About the Role

SOL Gulf is seeking an Enterprise Architect – Architecture Governance & Assurance to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves leading architecture governance and assurance within a Strategy Execution & Value Realization Office for a major Saudi enterprise client. The position requires over 10 years of experience in enterprise or solution architecture.

Role Context and Purpose

The Enterprise Architect will ensure that initiatives governed by the office align with the enterprise architecture. This includes validating solution designs, coordinating Architecture Review Board referrals, maintaining architecture decisions, and reporting compliance. The architect will collaborate closely with the client’s Enterprise Architecture department, which maintains ownership of architecture standards. The ideal candidate will have experience governing architecture for large transformation portfolios and the ability to influence delivery teams, vendors, and senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Review initiative solution designs at intake and stage gates against enterprise architecture principles, standards, and target architecture.
• Maintain the validation checklist, findings log, and architecture compliance report.
• Recommend and track corrective actions to closure.
• Prepare and route referrals to the client Architecture Review Board, following decisions through.
• Maintain the register of architecture decisions (ADR) and the referral log, reporting turnaround times.
• Map initiatives to business capabilities, applications, data, and technology domains to identify overlaps, dependencies, and gaps.
• Flag cross-theme architecture risks to the Integration Forum.
• Contribute architecture content to the governance framework, playbooks, and templates.
• Coach initiative teams and theme leads on architecture expectations and build client capability for handover.
• Provide architecture compliance and risk inputs for weekly health reporting and quarterly reviews.
• Engage with the client Enterprise Architecture department, PMO, vendors, and business owners.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in enterprise or solution architecture.
• Proven experience in governing architecture for large transformation portfolios.
• Ability to influence delivery teams, vendors, and senior stakeholders effectively.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, working with a major Saudi enterprise client. The role involves close collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders.
