Fortinet WAF & Mail Gateway Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role

Prospex Development is seeking a Fortinet WAF & Mail Gateway Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves configuring, administering, and troubleshooting Fortinet FortiWeb Web Application Firewall (WAF) and FortiMail Mail Gateway platforms. The position requires direct experience in implementing security policies, resolving production issues, and maintaining secure, reliable services, with 0-1 years of experience required.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain WAF policies, virtual servers, protected applications, and security profiles for FortiWeb.
• Onboard web applications and APIs, validating functionality after deployment and policy changes.
• Configure SSL/TLS inspection and manage digital certificates (installation, renewal, troubleshooting).
• Investigate blocked legitimate traffic, application connectivity issues, and policy-related errors.
• Monitor logs, alerts, and security events, tuning policies to address attacks and reduce false positives.
• Plan and execute firmware upgrades, hotfixes, and configuration changes for FortiWeb.
• Configure and maintain anti-spam, anti-malware, phishing protection, and email filtering policies for FortiMail.
• Monitor mail flow, service health, performance, and availability of FortiMail.
• Troubleshoot delivery failures, mail queues, false positives/negatives, and connectivity issues for FortiMail.
• Maintain email security configurations in line with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
• Plan and execute software upgrades, firmware updates, and hotfixes for FortiMail.
• Configure malware analysis profiles, file submission policies, supported file types, quarantine actions, and notifications for FortiSandbox.
• Deploy and maintain integrations between FortiSandbox and FortiMail.
• Review analysis results and Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) from FortiSandbox.
• Maintain firmware, signatures, and security configurations for FortiSandbox.
• Review policies across multi-vendor firewall environments using FireMon.
• Identify overly permissive, Any-to-Any, shadowed, duplicate, and unused rules, along with redundant objects.
• Configure policy analysis, compliance frameworks, risk scoring, rule recertification, and reporting in FireMon.
• Maintain firewall integrations and produce operational, compliance, and executive reports using FireMon.

Qualifications and Experience

• 0-1 years of direct experience in infrastructure engineering, specifically with Fortinet products.
• Demonstrated experience in configuring and maintaining Fortinet FortiWeb Web Application Firewall (WAF).
• Proven experience with Fortinet FortiMail Mail Gateway platforms.
• Ability to implement security policies and resolve production issues effectively.
• Experience with FortiSandbox integrations and firewall policy reviews using FireMon is required.
