About the Role

State Street is seeking a Fund Accounting Officer for a full-time, managerial position based in Riyadh, KSA. This role is central to managing the day-to-day Fund Accounting administration service, ensuring all deliverables are produced and dispatched on time, and in strict accordance with client service level agreements and agreed quality standards. The successful candidate will act as a senior escalation point for both internal State Street and client-related queries, taking ownership or delegating as appropriate, and will collaborate closely with State Street’s Outsourced Service centers and Centers of Excellence to ensure timely and quality deliverables.

Core Responsibilities

• Oversee valuations for specified clients, ensuring all relevant checks to the Funds NAVs have been completed, including checks against fund benchmarks and reasonability reports.
• Maintain managerial oversight of all operations conducted by the Fund Group.
• Act as an escalation point for technical issues encountered in daily business operations.
• Monitor errors and potential losses/breaches, completing necessary documentation and ensuring remediation, training, and appropriate remedial actions are identified and completed.
• Attend service calls as required and plan accordingly for confirmed projects, serving as the primary liaison for Fund Accounting activities.
• Continually review the operating environment and implement improvements where necessary.
• Liaise with appropriate staff members and Client Relationship Managers to ensure a full understanding of current versus future states and potential gaps or business impacts that may require project support, especially when client initiatives involve amending current processes.
• Assist as a Subject Matter Expert during client visits or projects where technical knowledge of the process is required.
• Ensure effective logging and resolution of inquiries, liaising with appropriate parties to resolve or escalate queries and problems within agreed timescales.

Leadership and Team Development

The Fund Accounting Officer is responsible for staff management, ensuring all team members are trained, coached, and developed in line with their roles and development pathways. This position also involves leading projects, performing team and department-level process analysis, and running initiatives related to various aspects of the business at a departmental level. The officer ensures that sufficiently trained staff are available to service clients and deliver quality service.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in a relevant fund accounting or financial services role.
• Proficiency in Arabic is required to translate and review statements that may need translation to English by operational Fund Accounting teams.

Work Location

This position is based out of Riyadh, KSA. The role's remit may also include other Middle East domicile funds.
