Within its Consulting business, SYSTRA is establishing a Project Management Office (PMO) to support the delivery of a significant urban regeneration program in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This initiative requires dedicated expertise to ensure precise data management and project execution.
The Role of GIS Data Surveyor
SYSTRA is seeking an experienced GIS Data Surveyor to join this urban regeneration program in central Riyadh. This full-time position is pivotal for ensuring accurate data collection, assessment, and reporting for heritage assets, utilities, infrastructure, and other urban elements, directly supporting the Project Management Office (PMO). The role requires extensive experience in data analysis, 3D scanning, orthophoto matching, and urban data analytics.
Core Surveying and Data Analysis Responsibilities
- Conduct and supervise 3D scans of heritage assets and diagnostic surveys for selected assets using advanced technologies, including Leica RTC360.
- Analyze and validate survey data, aligning it with orthophotos, GIS data, and other urban analytics to create precise spatial models.
- Generate and process true orthophotos and X-ray views using point cloud models to assess site conditions.
- Perform and supervise cadastral surveys, ensuring alignment with land title deeds and cadastral plans.
- Lead the survey process for critical infrastructure and utilities, including network mapping/scanning, connected capacity analysis, and state-of-repair assessments.
- Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSSE) regulations during data collection, surveying, and field investigations.
- Conduct safety assessments and promote a safe working environment on-site.
Project Coordination and Technical Reporting
- Review and assess the need for comprehensive surveys and investigations for heritage, infrastructure, and other urban assets under the project.
- Schedule and prioritize survey activities to ensure efficient and timely completion of design and implementation tasks.
- Collaborate closely with the procurement team to prepare Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and contract documentation for specialist surveys.
- Provide expert guidance on the use of advanced surveying tools, including Leica Cyclone and Leica RTC360, ensuring proper implementation and data accuracy.
- Ensure the effective processing of survey data, creating and maintaining 3D models, ortho-rectified images, and digital datasets.
- Generate detailed reports and presentations using AutoCAD, BIM, and Microsoft Office, ensuring project teams and stakeholders are informed.
- Work closely with the PMO lead, design teams, and other stakeholders to ensure the accuracy of survey data and the seamless integration of findings.
- Manage and provide technical direction to junior surveyors and field teams as needed.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Surveyor, including strong experience in surveying listed built heritage, as well as HSSE knowledge.
- At least 30 references of in situ data collection (Leica RTC360) and processing.
- Strong expertise in the advanced HDR imaging system, Leica Cyclone.
- Proven experience in generating and processing true orthophotos and X-ray views through point cloud views and models.
- Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD, BIM, and Microsoft Office.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
- Relevant Professional Certification or Membership is preferred.
