About the Role
WSP in the Middle East is seeking a Graduate Consultant specializing in Fire and Life Safety to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role is designed for recent graduates interested in building a career in fire engineering and life safety consultancy. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to significant projects and ensure designs meet international safety standards, supporting the development of safer built environments.
This role is intended for individuals with a solid academic background and an interest in fire protection and life safety principles. The successful candidate will gain practical experience by working with experienced professionals on diverse projects within the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing fire and life safety strategies for building and infrastructure projects.
- Support senior consultants by contributing to technical reports, design reviews, and compliance documentation.
- Conduct fire safety code compliance assessments against international standards such as NFPA, IBC, SBC, and other relevant regulations.
- Participate in analyses including evacuation modeling, risk assessments, and fire safety audits.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to integrate fire safety solutions into project designs.
- Research and apply emerging fire safety technologies and best practices to enhance project outcomes.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Foundational understanding of fire safety codes and standards, including NFPA, IBC, and SBC.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficiency in essential engineering software tools such as AutoCAD and Revit. Experience with fire modeling software is considered an advantage.
- Recent graduate or up to one year of relevant professional experience.
