About the Role

Sela, a Public Investment Fund (PIF) company, is seeking an experienced Head of Global Creative Delivery and Technical Operations. This executive leadership position requires a blend of creative excellence and engineering expertise to translate ambitious concepts into operational realities for large-scale events and destinations, aligning with Vision 2030 objectives. The role involves taking ownership of transforming artistic visions into safe, viable, and impactful technical executions for major global spectacles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between creative directors and engineering teams to ensure artistic concepts are structurally sound and flawlessly executed.
  • Develop and enforce global engineering, lighting, audio, visual (LAV), and kinetic standards for all Sela mega-events.
  • Oversee structural staging, projection mapping, automated kinetic architecture, pyrotechnics, and drone integration across extensive event sites.
  • Source, vet, and manage elite international technical production agencies, fabrication houses, and creative technology vendors.
  • Implement strict Quality Assurance and Quality Control protocols for all custom fabrications, AV technology, and machinery.
  • Review and govern complex technical specifications, rider requirements, and service-level agreements (SLAs) with global suppliers.
  • Lead integration efforts between creative design, temporary infrastructure, site logistics, power distribution, and health and safety teams.
  • Architect and direct rigorous technical rehearsal schedules, stress tests, and failure simulations to ensure system redundancy.
  • Ensure all creative installations comply with international structural, wind-load, and electrical safety regulations for public gatherings.
  • Act as the ultimate technical authority during live execution and broadcast, managing technical production crews and facilitating real-time problem-solving.
  • Liaise with Sela's Main Operations Centre (MOC) for real-time creative or technical adjustments during live programming.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 12–15+ years directing technical production or creative delivery for global-scale spectacles.
  • Proven track record leading technical delivery for at least one Olympic Games (Opening/Closing Ceremonies), FIFA World Cup ceremony, World Expo, or equivalent large-scale state program.
  • Demonstrable expertise in modern creative technology, including heavy-duty automated staging, advanced media servers, mega-lumens projection mapping, complex rigging, synchronized drone fleets, and pyrotechnic/laser governance.
  • A strong aesthetic sensibility with the ability to support artistic vision while adhering to safety and structural limits.
  • Experience commanding respect among artists, corporate stakeholders, technical engineers, and government officials.
  • Familiarity with the Middle East/GCC market's rapid growth.
  • Alignment with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 is advantageous.
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Technical Production, Structural Engineering, Architecture, Creative Technology, or a closely related technical field.
  • Relevant certifications in structural rigging, high-voltage systems, or specialized show-control software are expected.
  • A portfolio showcasing the technical execution of world-renowned, televised mega-events is required.
