Health And Safety Officer

About the Role

Initial Facilities Management is seeking a qualified Health and Safety Officer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves supporting the implementation and monitoring of health, safety, and environmental practices across the workplace. The officer will be responsible for identifying hazards, conducting inspections, promoting safe working practices, and ensuring compliance with company HSE policies and applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor daily workplace activities to ensure compliance with HSE procedures.
• Conduct regular site inspections and identify potential health and safety hazards.
• Assist in risk assessments and recommend appropriate control measures.
• Ensure employees and contractors follow established safety procedures.
• Monitor the correct use of PPE and safety equipment.
• Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and safety awareness sessions.
• Report and investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
• Maintain accurate HSE records, inspection reports, and incident documentation.
• Follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
• Support emergency preparedness, evacuation procedures, and emergency drills.
• Communicate safety requirements and observations to supervisors and site management.
• Assist in implementing and maintaining the HSE management system.
• Promote a positive safety culture and encourage employees to report hazards.
• Provide regular updates on safety observations, incidents, and compliance status.
• Support internal and external HSE audits and inspections.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, HSE, or a related field.
• Previous experience (2-5 years) in a Health & Safety or HSE role.
• Good knowledge of workplace safety procedures, risk assessment, and hazard identification.
• Good understanding of PPE, emergency procedures, and incident reporting.
• Relevant HSE certifications are preferred.

Required Skills

• Strong communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to conduct site inspections and safety awareness sessions.
