About the Health Safety Environment Supervisor Role

Nova Water, Saudi Arabia's leading premium bottled water brand, is seeking a Health Safety Environment Supervisor for its operations in Riyadh. This full-time role is crucial for maintaining and enhancing the company's commitment to quality and safety across its facilities.

Role Purpose and Objectives

The primary purpose of this role is to implement, sustain, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Management System within the assigned area of responsibility. This involves ensuring compliance with all relevant legislations, customer requirements, HSE management systems, and industry standards. The objective is to establish robust controls for all health, safety, and environmental hazards and risks affecting employees, thereby achieving HSE targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice and support on Health, Safety, and Environment matters to the Site Manager and site personnel.
• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs and policies aligned with local, national, and international standards.
• Facilitate continuous improvement in all aspects of the site’s HSE management systems and standards, in accordance with company policies.
• Advise management and employees on legislative and corporate compliance, and statutory requirements.
• Investigate and review significant accidents, incidents, complaints, and pollution events, identifying solutions to prevent recurrence.
• Drive the closure of identified issues and non-conformances.
• Support the Crisis Incident Management (CIM) process for HSE issues through risk assessments and reporting.
• Actively participate in the site HSE committee and drive the site’s HSE agenda.
• Develop and maintain HSE Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required.
• Provide and advise on appropriate site HSE training.
• Conduct safety training programs for all employees, subcontractors, and visitors, ensuring adequate training and certification.
• Maintain accurate records of safety training.
• Audit, monitor, and review the implementation of Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Coordinate site audits and accompany auditors.
• Collate data and report on the site’s HSE performance.
• Drive risk assessment processes to improve health and safety performance.
• Represent the site to regulatory health, safety, and environmental authorities.
• Manage the site’s Accident & Incident Reporting Systems and recommend improvements.
• Interface with regulatory authorities and insurers on key HSE matters.
• Promote a positive safety culture and encourage hazard reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
• 5-10 years of experience in Health, Safety, and Environment within a manufacturing environment.
• OSHA and NEBOSH IGC certification.
• Certification as a Practitioner from the Occupational Safety and Health Cadres’ Program (كوادر).
• Working knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environment Management Systems.
• Familiarity with ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, and OHSAS 18001.
• Good knowledge of English language.
• Good knowledge of Health & Safety Law and its application.
