About the Role

RAWAJ is seeking a Heavy Equipment Supervisor to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position focuses on ensuring the operational efficiency and reliability of heavy mobile equipment and diesel generators within the mining sector. The role requires a proactive approach to maintenance, technical supervision, and a commitment to minimizing downtime and maximizing equipment performance.

Core Responsibilities

The Heavy Equipment Supervisor will be instrumental in developing and implementing comprehensive maintenance strategies. Key duties include diagnosing and overseeing the repair of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults to ensure minimal operational disruption. This role involves continuous monitoring of equipment performance, conducting root cause analyses for any issues, and maintaining high availability rates for all heavy equipment and diesel generators.

  • Developing and executing preventive and predictive maintenance plans.
  • Supervising corrective maintenance activities to reduce equipment downtime.
  • Monitoring equipment operational hours and maintenance schedules.
  • Managing spare parts requirements and inventory in collaboration with the procurement department.
  • Ensuring adherence to safety standards and investigating equipment-related incidents.
  • Preparing technical reports and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Availability, Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR).
  • Utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for tracking and reporting purposes.

Team Leadership and Supervision

A significant aspect of this role involves leading and developing a team of maintenance technicians. The supervisor will be responsible for assigning tasks, providing technical guidance, and evaluating the performance of the maintenance team. Effective communication and strong leadership skills are essential for fostering a productive and safe working environment.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. This experience should be specifically within the mining, cement, silica, or heavy industry sectors. A strong understanding of heavy equipment, diesel generators, and maintenance and reliability best practices is crucial for success in this position.
