Role Overview: HSE Lead

The HSE Lead plays a critical role in ensuring adherence to established safety and environmental policies and procedures on projects. This full-time position requires a dedicated professional to oversee and implement comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) programs, contributing to a safe and compliant work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and implement project-specific Safety & Emergency Plans/Programs.
• Monitor and ensure HSE orientations are completed for all new project employees.
• Review method statements and ensure comprehensive risk assessments are conducted.
• Ensure HSE compliance during site setup and mobilization phases.
• Oversee and ensure the regular conduct of Safety toolbox meetings, HSE awareness sessions, and training.
• Investigate incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and ensure the implementation of corrective actions.
• Prepare and schedule site emergency drills, ensuring they are conducted as planned.
• Participate in and review Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment processes, ensuring recommended controls are in place to mitigate hazards.
• Review Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and ensure compliance with their requirements.
• Ensure material handling and storage are conducted in an approved manner.
• Prepare project Lesson Learned Reports related to HSE.
• Conduct planned inspections to identify potential hazards and verify the implementation of controls.
• Prepare traffic plans for the site.
• Monitor waste management and ensure disposal is conducted according to the safety plan.
• Identify and ensure field HSE procedures, including work permits for hazardous jobs, are in place as required.
• Conduct HSE audits and analyze trends.
• Manage the performance of the HSE team.
• Support the development of KSA national employees to meet corporate objectives and foster knowledge dissemination.
• Uphold the highest standards of respect, integrity, accountability, agility, quality, safety, and corporate governance in all team affairs.
• Ensure compliance with the Code of Ethics policy and company values, reinforcing ethical business practices and a strong people culture.
• Facilitate the adoption and utilization of systems and ERP within the function.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BSC), or Diploma in Safety Management or a relevant field.
• NEBOSH, IOSH Managing Safely, or OHSA certification.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in HSE within an operation comparable in size to ESEC.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suites.
• Advanced knowledge in occupational health and safety management.
• Proficiency in the management of waste and dangerous substances.
• Proficiency in assessing environmental impact.
• Advanced skills in risk assessment and mitigation.

Skills and Language Proficiency

• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Arabic language skills are considered a plus.

Additional Experience

Experience working in the Middle East region is considered a strong advantage for this role.
