About the Role

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced HSEW Inspector to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves ensuring adherence to the company's Health, Safety, and Environmental systems, project-specific safety requirements, and regulatory compliance. The role requires a proactive approach to overseeing contractor performance through inspections, audits, training, and incident investigations, while also managing essential HSE documentation and risk assessments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and enforce AtkinsRéalis' internal HSE management system requirements and project HSE requirements for the site team.
  • Monitor compliance of all staff with applicable safety standards and company procedures, reporting any violations to the Project Manager.
  • Assess and report on contractor and subcontractor HSE compliance with project requirements, legislation, and best practices.
  • Immediately report critical and outstanding safety issues to the AtkinsRéalis Project Manager.
  • Conduct and coordinate regular safety training for staff.
  • Perform daily site HSE tours with contractor HSE staff and document findings.
  • Issue Safety Enforcement Notices (SEN) according to AtkinsRéalis procedures and follow up on their prompt closure with adequate evidence.
  • Review and comment on contractor HSE Plans, advising on necessary updates to the site safety plan.
  • Review and comment on contractor risk assessments and work method statements.
  • Develop and update AtkinsRéalis HSE documents, including the Safety File, HSE Plan, and various risk assessments.
  • Conduct accident and incident investigations for AtkinsRéalis staff and compile relevant reports and statistics.
  • Chair weekly safety meetings as required, issue minutes promptly, and report outstanding safety issues.
  • Prepare and maintain AtkinsRéalis HSE registers, including training, induction, SEN, and inspection reports.
  • Report any site accident immediately to the AtkinsRéalis KSA Health and Safety Manager and Line Manager.
  • Communicate and coordinate with the AtkinsRéalis KSA Health and Safety Manager for advice and guidance.
  • Seek advice from the AtkinsRéalis KSA Health and Safety Manager before issuing major enforcement notices.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum HSE qualifications, including a NEBOSH Diploma/IGC.
  • Completion of Lead Auditor courses for ISO45001 and ISO14001.
  • Professional membership from IIRSM or IOSH is preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in site supervision consulting, with specific experience in Piling/Deep foundation projects being essential.
  • Mandatory experience working in the Middle East.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a small team.
  • Capability to lead a small team of like-disciplined individuals.
  • Proficiency in creating designs relevant to the Middle East environment.

Work Environment and Location

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh. The role involves working within a project environment, requiring direct engagement with site operations and contractor teams.
