This internship provides students or recent graduates with direct exposure to investment management, asset allocation studies, and portfolio construction within a global firm comprising over 25,000 colleagues across 44 countries.

Role Overview

This internship is designed for individuals seeking hands-on experience in investment consulting. Interns will work closely with investment managers, contributing to client portfolios and gaining practical insights into the industry. The role emphasizes active participation and critical thinking rather than observation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participating in investment manager searches, asset allocation studies, and portfolio construction reviews.
  • Assisting in the development of client-facing materials, including analysis, commentary, performance reporting, and advice.
  • Utilizing Mercer's proprietary tools for analyzing asset allocations and investment managers, and interpreting results.
  • Liaising with investment managers, record keepers, and custodians to obtain or clarify client data.
  • Supporting investment consultants in managing client and prospect relationships.
  • Contributing to internal projects and addressing ad-hoc inquiries from clients, managers, auditors, and colleagues.
  • Engaging in confident communication with clients and colleagues at all levels.

Candidate Requirements

  • Strong analytical skills, including comfort with numerical data and nuance, along with proficiency in Excel.
  • Demonstrated exposure to data analysis and creating clear presentations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client interactions.
