IT Security Architecture Supervisor

About the Role

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is seeking an IT Security Architecture Supervisor. This full-time role involves leading work activities autonomously towards long-term objectives, overseeing the implementation of operational plans, and driving significant improvements to IT security policies, procedures, standards, and reports. The supervisor will provide expert support in researching and benchmarking new IT security trends and standards.

Key Responsibilities

The IT Security Architecture Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the full protection of the IT environment through various strategic and operational tasks, including:

• Conducting research and benchmarking on IT security, collecting necessary information, and developing IT security architecture, guidelines, policies, and procedures aligned with the IT strategy.
• Gathering inputs to analyze IT security incidents, identifying IT security risks, and designing IT security risk management tools to ensure consistency in addressing information security risks.
• Collecting requirements for periodical IT risk assessments, defining configurations for the IT environment, performing assessments in cooperation with stakeholders, and monitoring results to register all IT security risks and threats.
• Understanding the requirements of the IT security compliance program, collaborating with ZATCA’s stakeholders to prepare the IT environment, and implementing the program while balancing investments and compliance targets.
• Collecting and analyzing information on IT security architecture performance, identifying challenges, and updating the architecture to resolve issues.
• Following all relevant policies, processes, and standard operating procedures to ensure controlled and consistent work execution.
• Assisting in solving escalated problems and providing support to junior team members to ensure efficient work.
• Escalating complex problems to relevant personnel to ensure proper resolution.
• Supervising the development of ZATCA IT security guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Providing expert recommendations during the development of ZATCA IT security architecture.
• Managing the analysis and diagnosis of IT security incidents and security risks.
• Supervising the development of periodical IT risk assessments.
• Following up on the implementation of corrective actions to mitigate IT security risks.

People Management

This role also involves leadership and development responsibilities for junior staff:

• Training junior staff on various job activities to facilitate knowledge transfer.
• Providing clear direction, prioritizing tasks, assigning and delegating responsibility, and monitoring the workflow of subordinates.
• Supporting junior staff or direct reports in executing their duties according to established policies and processes.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should possess a strong background in IT security architecture and management.

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in IT security.
• Demonstrated ability to lead work activities and operate autonomously with minor direction.
• Proven experience in overseeing the implementation of operational plans and providing significant improvements to policies and procedures.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority. The role requires a proactive approach to maintaining and enhancing the IT security posture of the organization.
