About the Kitchen Technician Role

The Luxury Collection is seeking a skilled Kitchen Technician to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires a professional with 2-5 years of experience in maintenance and repair, particularly within kitchen environments. The role involves responding to guest repair requests and resolving maintenance issues with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
  • Visually inspect tools, equipment, and machines.
  • Carry equipment such as tools and radios.
  • Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment.
  • Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
  • Communicate daily activities and issues to other shifts using approved programs and standards.
  • Utilize the Lockout/Tagout system before commencing any maintenance work.
  • Troubleshoot and perform repairs on various equipment, including pumps, motors, plumbing fixtures, electrical components, air conditioners, and HVAC systems.
  • Ensure all repair methods, materials, and practices meet company standards and relevant codes.

Technical Skills and Expertise

Candidates must demonstrate advanced ability to read standard blueprints and electrical schematics related to plumbing and HVAC. Proficiency is required in at least three of the following categories: air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building management. Above-average skills are expected in three additional categories, with basic skills in the remaining areas. Strong knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and power tools are essential.

Qualifications and Experience

  • High school diploma or *** equivalent, with a vocational or technical background.
  • Extensive experience and training in general maintenance, electrical, or refrigeration.
  • Experience with parts inventory and requisition, and exterior/interior surface preparation and painting.
  • A minimum of 2 years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience.
  • A valid Driver’s License.
  • Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification.
  • Must meet applicable state and federal certification and/or licensing requirements.

Professional Conduct and Teamwork

Adherence to all company and safety and security policies and procedures is mandatory. This includes reporting maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries, and completing safety training. Maintaining a clean and professional appearance, protecting company assets, and ensuring confidentiality are also key aspects of the role. The ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team goals, and communicate clearly and professionally is expected.

Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance, and heavier tasks with assistance. The technician must be able to move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladders, and perform tasks involving reaching overhead, below the knees, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Entering and locating work-related information using computers is also part of the job duties.
