About the Lifting Engineer Role

BEC Arabia is seeking a qualified Lifting Engineer to manage, review, and control all lifting operations from a safety and technical perspective. This full-time position is based in Riyadh and requires 5-10 years of experience in lifting operations. The role ensures that all lifting activities are meticulously planned, risk-assessed, and executed in strict compliance with project HSE requirements, international lifting standards, and client procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and approve lifting plans, risk assessments, and method statements.
• Ensure all lifting operations adhere to approved procedures, HSE standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Review crane capacities, load charts, lifting accessories, and critical lifting requirements.
• Conduct lifting studies and provide technical guidance for complex lifting activities.
• Monitor crane operations, rigging activities, and lifting teams on site.
• Conduct inspections of cranes, lifting equipment, and accessories to verify validity and compliance.
• Support lifting supervisors and site teams during critical lifts.
• Maintain lifting permits, certifications, and inspection records.
• Participate in lifting audits, investigations, and safety improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate with construction, PMV, and HSE teams to ensure the safe execution of lifting activities.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, with a preference for Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
• A minimum of 8–10 years of experience in lifting operations, specifically within large-scale construction projects.
• Demonstrated strong experience with heavy lifting operations, cranes, and rigging activities.
• Previous experience in mega projects, high-rise, or complex construction environments is essential.
• Knowledge of international lifting standards such as ASME B30, BS, and LOLER.

Preferred Credentials

• Certification as a Lifting Engineer or Lifting Planner is preferred.
• Experience within the GCC region and with PIF/Giga projects is advantageous.
