About the Mechanical Design Engineer Role

MOBCO Group is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team for significant projects in Riyadh and Al Khobar. This full-time position requires a professional with substantial experience in designing, reviewing, and coordinating mechanical systems for large-scale construction projects, ideally with a background in leading contracting companies. The role involves ensuring designs meet project specifications, local regulations, and international engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and coordinate mechanical design drawings and calculations.
• Design and develop HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage, and Firefighting systems according to project requirements.
• Review Issued For Construction (IFC) drawings, specifications, and consultant design packages.
• Prepare technical submittals, design reports, calculations, and other engineering documentation.
• Coordinate with Architectural, Structural, Electrical, and BIM teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Conduct design reviews to identify clashes, constructability issues, and technical conflicts.
• Support value engineering initiatives and design optimization efforts.
• Participate in technical meetings with consultants, clients, and project stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with local authority requirements, international codes, and project specifications.
• Provide technical support to site execution teams during construction and commissioning.
• Review material submittals and participate in technical evaluations of suppliers and subcontractors.
• Support testing, commissioning, and project handover activities.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in Mechanical Design Engineering.
• Mandatory proven experience working with reputable contracting companies.
• Strong experience in the design of HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage, and Firefighting systems.
• Experience in large-scale commercial, residential, hospitality, mixed-use, or infrastructure developments.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, HAP, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office applications.

Essential Criteria

• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience is mandatory.
• Previous experience with contracting companies is a mandatory requirement.
• Experience on mega projects is mandatory.
• Experience working on projects within Saudi Arabia or the GCC region is highly preferred.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with consultants, contractors, and site teams.
• Immediate availability is preferred.

Technical and Problem-Solving Skills

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills. A solid understanding of design coordination within multidisciplinary project environments is essential for success in this role. The ability to effectively integrate mechanical systems with other project disciplines is a key requirement.
