The Opportunity: Mechanical Technical Office Engineer

Abdullah Ibrahim Al Sayegh And Sons is seeking a Mechanical Technical Office Engineer – Engineering Studies & Tendering (Water Infrastructure Projects) to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time, on-site position designed for professionals with 0-1 years of experience. The role focuses on preparing and reviewing mechanical engineering designs, calculations, and technical studies for critical water, stormwater, and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Core Responsibilities

The Mechanical Technical Office Engineer will be responsible for a range of tasks related to engineering studies and tendering processes. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and reviewing mechanical engineering designs, calculations, and technical studies for water, stormwater, and wastewater networks, treatment plants, pumping stations, and related infrastructure.
  • Coordinating with project managers, site teams, and multidisciplinary engineering disciplines to ensure designs meet project specifications, client requirements, and relevant codes and standards.
  • Analyzing technical documentation and reviewing shop drawings.
  • Preparing material submittals.
  • Supporting tender and bid preparation processes.
  • Providing technical support for construction and operation & maintenance activities.
  • Contributing to risk assessments, quality assurance processes, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project efficiency and sustainability.
  • Reviewing and analyzing tender documents and technical specifications.
  • Performing quantity take-offs and mechanical Bill of Quantities (BOQ) analysis.
  • Preparing Requests for Quotation (RFQs) for suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Reviewing technical proposals and preparing technical comparison sheets.
  • Supporting the estimating team with technical analysis and cost evaluation.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should meet the following criteria:

  • 0-1 years of professional experience in a relevant engineering field.
  • Ability to read and analyze tender documents, technical specifications, and engineering drawings in English.

Work Setting

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role requires active participation within a project-focused environment, collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders.
