About the Role

Hays is seeking an OT Cybersecurity Engineer for a contract position in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role is critical for supporting a client in the petrochemical sector by protecting their operational technology (OT) and industrial control systems (ICS). The engineer will be responsible for enhancing the security posture of these systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and local regulations, and participating in audit activities. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the cybersecurity resilience of industrial environments through collaboration with various teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and support OT/ICS cybersecurity measures across industrial environments.
• Perform system hardening for OT assets, including SCADA, DCS, and PLC systems.
• Identify, assess, and remediate vulnerabilities within the OT environment.
• Support OT Cybersecurity Compliance (OTCC) framework alignment and related activities.
• Conduct and assist in internal OT cybersecurity audits and gap assessments.
• Collaborate with IT, engineering, and operations teams to ensure secure system integration.
• Monitor OT security incidents and contribute to incident response and mitigation efforts.
• Maintain documentation, compliance reports, and risk registers related to OT security.
• Ensure adherence to relevant standards such as IEC 62443, NIST, and local Saudi regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3 to 7+ years of experience in OT/ICS cybersecurity within industrial environments, preferably in the petrochemical, oil & gas, or manufacturing sectors.
• Strong understanding of SCADA, DCS, PLCs, and industrial networks.
• Hands-on experience with system hardening techniques.
• Proficiency in using vulnerability management tools.
• Experience with OT security monitoring solutions.
• Familiarity with OTCC compliance requirements in Saudi Arabia.
• Proven experience in conducting audits and compliance assessments.
• Knowledge of industrial protocols such as Modbus, OPC, and DNP3.
• Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams within critical infrastructure environments.
