About GE Vernova and the Role

GE Vernova is seeking a Power Transformer CoE Leader to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is central to providing technical leadership across transformer services, repair, and lifecycle management within the Power Transformer Center of Excellence (CoE). The role focuses on establishing and driving best-in-class practices for on-site repair, enhancing service capabilities, and ensuring the high-quality execution of complex field activities.

Role Purpose and Scope

The Power Transformer CoE Leader is responsible for the strategic development and operational oversight of the Power Transformer Center of Excellence. This includes aligning the CoE's activities with broader business strategies, operational excellence goals, and service growth objectives. The leader will leverage deep technical expertise to guide all aspects of power transformer engineering and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Power Transformer (PTR) Center of Excellence (CoE), ensuring alignment with business strategy, operational excellence, and service growth objectives.
  • Provide strong technical leadership in PTR, utilizing extensive hands-on experience across on-site repair, testing, manufacturing, and lifecycle management.
  • Drive and oversee on-site repair activities, ensuring high-quality execution, safety compliance, and minimal downtime for customers. This includes supporting complex site interventions and acting as an escalation point for critical cases.
  • Manage overall PTR engineering activities during both the tendering (ITO) and project execution (OTR) stages.
  • Support Commercial teams in complex technical discussions with customers.
  • Lead technical coordination with GE internal supplying units.
  • Study and interpret customer RFQ and tender requirements.
  • Prepare the Division of Responsibility between all internal/external stakeholders and the customer.
  • Validate the overall technical solution prior to client submission.
  • Perform site visits for data collection as required.
  • Provide technical support to the field services team during site works.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess between 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in power transformer services, repair, or manufacturing. A strong technical background with practical, hands-on experience in on-site repair, testing, manufacturing processes, and lifecycle management of power transformers is essential. The ability to lead technical teams and manage complex engineering projects from tendering through execution is also required.

Work Location

This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and may involve site visits as part of the responsibilities.
