About the Role
stc is seeking a Presales Assistant Manager to join their team in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is responsible for providing technical expertise in Infrastructure & Applications Design and Engineering to ensure business continuity. The role also involves advising on operational work processes and mandates to minimize technical and operational risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with sales and business development teams to gather client requirements, assess technical needs, and provide infrastructure design inputs for proposals and RFPs.
- Contribute to budgetary and capacity planning activities by estimating future infrastructure demands and cost structures.
- Define and communicate design guidelines and best practices to internal engineering teams.
- Provide expert advisory on infrastructure architecture, design methodologies, and tactical strategies tailored to customer-specific environments.
- Assess client network and security postures; recommend high-level mitigation strategies or escalate significant risks during presales engagements.
- Lead infrastructure dimensioning and capacity planning discussions with clients for new and expanding services.
- Ensure optimized, compliant high-level infrastructure designs are proposed, incorporating safety, regulatory, and performance standards.
- Assist in evaluating customer system and equipment performance baselines; suggest upgrades or alternatives in line with proposal development.
- Establish infrastructure quality benchmarks that balance cost-effectiveness and service excellence for competitive presales offers.
- Advise clients on IT application architecture design, covering service architecture, technology stack, and alignment with enterprise frameworks.
- Coordinate closely with enterprise architects and technical stakeholders to ensure Customer Requirements (CRs) are accurately translated into feasible, scalable solutions.
- Guide prioritization of client requirements based on business value, feasibility, and alignment with the broader solution strategy.
- Identify and analyze gaps between current state (as-is) and desired future state (to-be) in client environments, proposing strategic transition approaches.
- Ensure all high-level designs and proposed architectures are supported by clear documentation, performance baselines, and value-driven optimizations.
- Validate technical solution blueprints to confirm they meet client needs, budgetary limits, and long-term operational goals.
- Support presales testing scope definition, identifying areas requiring detailed validation.
- Ensure proposed services and applications integrate seamlessly with client’s existing platforms and IT environments.
- Recommend refinements to high-level solution designs to ensure accurate alignment with business drivers and client pain points.
- Provide presales support for OS, database systems, virtualization, archiving, and server consolidation as per customer objectives.
- Help define specifications for back-end infrastructure and middleware in alignment with proposed business applications.
- Review existing client infrastructure and propose modernization strategies or design improvements during presales consultations.
- Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to recommend database performance tuning and optimization plans.
- Support planning and justification for data migration, backup strategies, and legacy decommissioning, tailored to presales scenarios.
- Provide forecasting and ROI analysis for infrastructure components such as cloud services, storage, and network capacity in support of client proposals.
- Architect cloud solutions (private/public/hybrid) based on client needs, evaluating providers and technologies for presales recommendations.
- Advise on cloud integration strategies for clients transitioning from legacy environments to modern platforms.
- Define pre-production test environments and methodologies required for client demonstrations or POCs.
- Ensure all presales proposals comply with security standards and corporate policies, including data protection and operational controls.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience is required for this position.
