About the Quality Assurance Manager Role
TestCrew is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead and enhance the quality assurance function across various projects and products. This full-time position is based in Riyadh. The ideal candidate will possess significant expertise in manual and API testing, coupled with a proven track record in managing QA teams, defining test strategies, and upholding quality standards. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is a key aspect of this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive QA strategies, processes, standards, and best practices for all projects.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA Engineers and Senior QA Engineers.
- Establish robust testing frameworks, define quality metrics, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee all quality assurance activities throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Review business and functional requirements to ensure thorough test coverage.
- Manage the preparation and review of test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and execution reports.
- Direct Functional, Regression, Integration, System, End-to-End, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Ensure the timely execution of testing activities and the delivery of quality products within project timelines.
- Lead API testing efforts using tools such as Postman, Swagger, or similar platforms, ensuring validation of requests, responses, authentication, integrations, and error handling.
- Oversee the testing of web, mobile, enterprise, and integration-based applications.
- Monitor the defect lifecycle, ensuring timely resolution of critical issues and conducting defect triage meetings.
- Assess release readiness and provide quality sign-off for deployments, supporting production validation and post-release testing.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Developers, Architects, and Project Managers.
- Participate in requirement reviews, sprint planning, retrospectives, and release planning.
- Provide regular status reports, quality metrics, risk assessments, and executive-level updates.
- Act as the primary QA point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
- Establish QA governance practices and quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Drive test process optimization and implement risk-based testing approaches.
- Promote Agile testing practices and foster quality ownership across teams.
- Support audit, compliance, and documentation requirements as needed.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in Quality Assurance, with at least 2–3 years in a QA Lead or QA Manager role.
- Extensive experience in Manual Testing and Quality Assurance Management.
- Hands-on experience in API Testing using tools such as Postman, Swagger, or similar platforms.
- Proven experience leading QA teams and managing testing activities across multiple projects.
- A strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, defect management, and release management principles.
- Experience in preparing and reviewing test plans, test strategies, test cases, and quality reports.
- Good knowledge of SQL for data validation and backend testing.
- Experience with defect tracking and project management tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar.
- A strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Excellent stakeholder management, leadership, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Exposure to test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience with Performance Testing and Security Testing.
- Experience managing distributed or offshore QA teams.
- Experience in Banking, Financial Services, Payments, or Fintech domains.
- Relevant certifications such as ISTQB, CSTE, CSQA, or equivalent are considered a plus.
