About the Role

S&P Global is seeking a Regional Communications Manager to be based in Riyadh. This full-time position is crucial for supporting the development and execution of both external and internal communications across the EMEA region, with a specific focus on enhancing the visibility and reputation of S&P Global Energy. The role involves close collaboration with colleagues, leadership, and subject matter experts to achieve divisional and corporate objectives, as well as alignment with global communications efforts.

Role Objectives and Impact

The primary objective is to position S&P Global Energy as a leader in the energy, data/benchmark, and sustainability sectors within the EMEA region through strategic communications. This involves cultivating strong relationships with key media, securing impactful coverage, and developing consistent messaging for internal stakeholders. The role also contributes to broader strategic planning, including crisis communications, and requires tracking media coverage and internal metrics to measure effectiveness and ensure alignment with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the communications strategy for S&P Global Energy within the EMEA region, aligning with divisional and corporate objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and subject matter experts to craft compelling narratives and communicate strategic initiatives.
  • Draft and distribute external communications, including press releases, statements, media advisories, and bylined articles.
  • Create internal content, such as executive messages, and manage internal events as needed.
  • Ensure all communications align with S&P Global's corporate values, vision, and strategic goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, global media, industry analysts, and journalists across EMEA.
  • Coordinate media interviews, press briefings, and events.
  • Monitor and report on communications results against strategic goals.
  • Manage media relations during crises to ensure effective responses and mitigate reputational risks.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a minimum of 8 years of experience in public relations, external communications, or media relations. A strategic communications leadership background with industry credibility and extensive regional and global relationships is essential. The ability to translate complex market dynamics into impactful public narratives is key. Fluency in both English and Arabic (written and spoken) is required. Experience in developing and executing PR strategies across EMEA markets is highly important. Familiarity with financial and commodities markets, data services, or analytics sectors is considered a plus.
