Job Description
About the Role
AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced Road Surveyor to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time position supports a mega infrastructure road development project, focusing on precise field surveys, complex highway and infrastructure construction, and ensuring full compliance with project specifications and Saudi regulatory requirements.
Field Surveying and Site Measurements
- Conduct topographic, route, and engineering surveys for major road corridors, interchanges, utility corridors, and related civil works.
- Perform setting out for road alignments, centerlines, curves, earthworks, utilities, and structures.
- Establish and maintain survey control networks, benchmarks, and reference points across large project zones.
- Operate advanced surveying instruments including Total Station, GPS/GNSS RTK, Digital Level, and Laser Scanner.
Data Processing and Reporting
- Process field data using software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, or Leica.
- Prepare survey drawings, profiles, cross-sections, and as-built records.
- Validate levels, elevations, horizontal/vertical alignments, and Digital Terrain Model (DTM) models.
- Provide accurate survey inputs for earthworks quantities, grading, pavement layers, and drainage works.
Construction Support and Coordination
- Support construction teams with precise setting-out for highways, bridges, tunnels, drainage networks, and utility relocations.
- Verify that construction works comply with Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings and project specifications.
- Identify discrepancies and coordinate with engineers for corrective actions.
- Assist during inspections with consultants and authorities.
- Coordinate daily with site engineers, QA/QC, construction teams, and design consultants.
Quality, Safety, and Documentation
- Adhere to all Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE) protocols on site.
- Ensure accuracy and reliability of all survey measurements.
- Comply with KSA regulatory standards and requirements from authorities such as RCRC, MOMRAH, Saudi Building Code, and the Ministry of Transport & Logistic Services (MOTLS).
- Maintain daily logs, survey reports, and equipment calibration records.
- Prepare and submit as-built survey documents required for approvals and handover, ensuring all survey activities are documented as per contract, consultant, and authority requirements.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- A minimum of 5-10 years of experience as a Land/Road Surveyor.
- Demonstrated experience in large-scale infrastructure or road development projects.
- Proficiency in operating advanced surveying instruments and processing software as detailed above.
- Strong understanding of Saudi standards and authority requirements for surveying and construction.
