About the Role

Parsons Corporation is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior AutoCAD Operator to join its Engineering Team in Riyadh. This full-time position is responsible for producing, coordinating, and overseeing accurate CAD drawings to support multiple design projects across the organization. The role requires a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a busy CAD environment.

Role Responsibilities

The Senior AutoCAD Operator will work closely with engineers and designers to prepare design drawings, layouts, details, and as-built documentation in line with project requirements, standards, client specifications, and applicable codes. Key responsibilities include:

• Supervising, coordinating, and mentoring CAD Operators, including planning and distributing CAD work to meet quality and schedule requirements.
• Preparing and developing complex and detailed CAD drawings for multiple design projects, including plans, sections, elevations, profiles, layouts, and details.
• Translating design concepts, sketches, calculations, and markups from engineers and designers into accurate CAD drawings and 3D models, where applicable.
• Reviewing, checking, and updating drawings based on engineers’ and architects’ comments, ensuring all revisions are correctly incorporated and documented.
• Ensuring CAD standards, file structures, naming conventions, layers, and presentation are consistently applied across all projects.
• Supporting design development, tender documentation, construction drawings, and as-built deliverables.
• Performing complex or urgent CAD tasks to support project deadlines and resolve coordination issues.
• Assisting in developing and maintaining CAD manuals, templates, and standard details.
• Conducting quality checks on drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications.
• Providing guidance and on-the-job training to junior CAD staff.
• Coordinating with other departments and disciplines to ensure proper design coordination.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma / Associate degree in Drafting, or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Technology, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in a busy CAD environment, preferably in engineering and multi-project design.
• Proven experience producing detailed design and engineering drawings.
• Experience supervising or leading a CAD team, including workload planning and review of deliverables.
• Ability to manage multiple design projects and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and 3D for design works.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, calculations, design instructions, and technical specifications.
• Solid understanding of drawing standards, scales, dimensioning, detailing, and plotting.
• Ability to revise and update drawings accurately with proper version control.
• Experience with additional CAD/BIM tools such as Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, or similar is desired.
• Familiarity with CAD standards, symbol libraries, and standard details is beneficial.
• Ability to support basic 3D visualization or coordination models is a plus.
