About the Role

EY's Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) practice is seeking a Senior Consultant to join its team in Riyadh. This role supports clients with accounting and financial reporting challenges, focusing on large-scale projects including Mergers & Acquisitions, Carve-outs, and Capital Market transactions throughout the entire deal cycle. You will contribute to a team that provides insights and services to enhance finance functions through analytics, decision-making, and innovation, with opportunities for ongoing professional development.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will engage directly with a diverse client base across various industries. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Building and maintaining strong internal and external networks.
  • Reporting to Managers, Senior Managers, Directors, and Partners during all stages of FAAS engagements.
  • Providing advisory services on transactional accounting and reporting for M&A (including pre-deal structuring, execution, and post-merger integration), divestitures, and financial carve-outs, including the establishment of standalone finance functions.
  • Supporting IPO readiness and execution for equity and debt offerings under demanding timelines and high-pressure conditions.
  • Ensuring the delivery of high-quality work, on time, and in compliance with EY policies.
  • Collaborating with other EY locations, service lines, and specialists to deliver integrated service offerings.
  • Monitoring engagement economics against key financial metrics and managing relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identifying and communicating relevant trends, developments, and key performance drivers to clients.
  • Consulting with appropriate resources on complex accounting and reporting issues to ensure FAAS work products meet client needs, are clear, accurate, and well-presented.
  • Ensuring timely delivery of work and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Effectively executing the FAAS service delivery framework, providing strategic insights and financial advisory expertise for major transactions.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A bachelor's degree in finance and/or accounting.
  • A minimum of three years of experience working as an auditor, consultant, or technical resource for a public accounting firm.
  • A CPA, CA, or ACCA certification.
  • Knowledge of accounting and financial reporting standards.
  • Strong IFRS skills.
  • Solid team working skills with the ability to collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds within the FAAS team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, client service, and technical writing skills in English.
  • The ability and comfort level to research client inquiries and emerging issues, including IFRS, public company regulations, industry practices, and new technologies.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel on short notice, as necessary.
  • A keen interest in developing the technical and other attributes of assigned team members.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Ideally, candidates will also have:

  • A Master's or MBA qualification.
  • A proven track record with a leading audit firm.
  • Proficiency in the Arabic language.
  • Sector experience in one or more of the following: Construction, Energy, Financial Services, Government & Public Sector, Healthcare.
