About the Senior Manager, Special Assets Corporate Role

Alrajhi Bank is seeking a Senior Manager for its Special Assets Corporate division in Riyadh. This full-time position focuses on managing complex corporate restructurings and implementing effective loan recovery strategies for non-performing loans to ensure timely and maximized resolutions.

Role Responsibilities

The Senior Manager will be responsible for overseeing the management of large corporate restructurings for non-performing loans, aiming for workable resolutions. This includes managing and implementing loan recovery strategies for distressed corporate portfolios to maximize collections and recovery. The role involves detailed analysis of customer financial data, assessment of loan portfolio status, and development of financial models to project the validity of restructuring initiatives. Proactive credit monitoring of obligors, particularly watch list and weak clients, is essential. The position also requires close cooperation with various internal departments such as Corporate Banking, Collections, and Legal, as well as external parties like Bankruptcy Trustees and Courts, to protect the bank's interests and ensure debt collection.

Key Accountabilities in Loan Management

  • Examining and identifying root causes of customer underperformance to address operational and financial issues.
  • Analyzing financial data to assess clients' ability to proceed with financial restructuring.
  • Reviewing loan terms against borrower financials to propose restructuring initiatives.
  • Developing financial models for restructuring initiative validity assessment.
  • Monitoring borrower financial status and compliance with restructuring terms.
  • Assessing the corporate loan portfolio status and ensuring accurate rating according to bank standards.
  • Providing projections for non-performing loans to support portfolio health evaluation.
  • Controlling accurate analysis of own portfolio to identify financial problems and project required provisions.
  • Participating in portfolio relationship management and developing initiatives for client financial recovery.
  • Leading feasibility studies and credit proposals for managing non-performing loans.
  • Ensuring identification and utilization of collateral and securities.
  • Cooperating with relevant parties for effective management of non-performing loans and debt collection.
  • Participating in training development for Relationship Managers and Credit Officers.
  • Interacting with Bankruptcy Trustees and Courts to validate bank claims.
  • Overseeing and participating in meetings with distressed borrowers to develop settlement plans.
  • Reviewing settlement plans and seeking approval for legal action when necessary.
  • Ensuring close collaboration with legal representatives for policy compliance.
  • Overseeing the archiving of portfolio client documentation.
  • Ensuring annual review of obligor ratings and proactive monitoring of watch list clients.
  • Coordinating with CAMC to monitor delinquency status and recommend action plans.
  • Monitoring PDO and recommending action plans from a remedial management perspective.
  • Conducting client meetings, especially with key or weak clients.

Policy Compliance and Development

  • Ensuring compliance with the bank's corporate credit policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Bank's Risk Management Policies, including concentration limits.
  • Involving in the development and revision of credit policies and procedures.
  • Involvement in the development of credit/product programs.

Leadership and Performance

If required, the role includes managing and overseeing team performance through performance planning, coaching, and feedback, fostering the development of skills and competencies for individual professional growth. The Senior Manager will direct and ensure the effective achievement of functional objectives through leadership. The role also involves achieving assigned individual/group financial objectives related to recovery and collection.

Decision Making and Governance

The Senior Manager will have the responsibility to recommend credit actions to the Corporate Remedial Committee or Credit Committee. Credit decision-making delegation at level 6 for the portfolio is anticipated. Adherence to all bank regulations and control functions is mandatory to ensure governance, audit, risk, compliance, and fraud detection and combating matters are carried out effectively.

Qualifications

The required experience for this role is between 5 to 10 years.
