About the Role

ECEC East Consulting Engineering Company is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for a full-time position in Riyadh. This role involves managing structural site operations to ensure adherence to client requirements and high standards, working within a multicultural engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Structural Engineer will oversee the execution of all structural works, managing a team of Structural Site Engineers and Structural Inspectors. Key duties include:

  • Providing support and coordination with the Project Manager on all structural matters.
  • Reviewing shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
  • Ensuring all work complies with structural drawings, architectural drawings, and project specifications.
  • Coordinating structural drawings with other departmental designs and highlighting any discrepancies.
  • Conducting and documenting site inspections to verify safety and structural quality standards.
  • Maintaining job records and relevant documentation.
  • Preparing method statements for various civil and structural works, including earthworks, concreting, and finishing.
  • Evaluating and recommending feasible construction methodologies based on site conditions and contract requirements.

Administrative Duties

In addition to technical responsibilities, the role requires effective administrative and interpersonal engagement:

  • Maintaining presence and professionalism on site.
  • Respecting line managers and colleagues.
  • Adhering to ECEC policies, terms, and code of ethics, as well as site-specific policies.
  • Writing official transmittals and recording meeting minutes.
  • Coordinating communication between parties and ensuring correct correspondence distribution.
  • Following all HSE rules and regulations.
  • Following direct manager instructions.
  • Mentoring and coaching colleagues.
  • Supporting and respecting client representatives.
  • Applying best practices in communication skills.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should possess the following qualifications:

  • A degree in Structural or Civil Engineering from an internationally recognized university.
  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a Structural Site Engineering role.
