About the Role

The Ritz-Carlton, part of Marriott International, is seeking a Shift Leader - Engineering for a full-time position in Riyadh. This role is central to upholding The Ritz-Carlton's "Gold Standards," ensuring excellence in luxury hospitality through diligent engineering operations and maintenance. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining the highest operational standards within the property.

Key Engineering Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using appropriate hand and power tools.
  • Inspect and diagnose malfunctions in tools, equipment, electrical systems, apparatus, and components.
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other electrical components.
  • Utilize testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to assess system performance.
  • Test batteries in generators, emergency lighting, and similar systems.
  • Plan the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, adhering to job specifications, the National Electric Code, and local codes.
  • Read and accurately follow blueprints and schematics.
  • Respond to repair requests and execute preventative maintenance on tools, equipment, and appliances.
  • Manage maintenance inventory and requisition necessary parts and supplies.

Operational and Safety Compliance

  • Adhere to all company safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries promptly.
  • Complete required safety training and certifications.
  • Properly store flammable materials according to guidelines.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.

Guest and Team Interaction

  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests in accordance with company standards.
  • Anticipate and address guests’ service needs, including assisting individuals with disabilities.
  • Thank guests with genuine appreciation.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues.
  • Listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally, preparing and reviewing information accurately.

Physical Demands and General Support

  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance.
  • Capability to grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

Candidates for this full-time Shift Leader - Engineering position should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in an engineering or maintenance role, preferably within a luxury hospitality environment. A strong understanding of electrical systems and maintenance protocols is essential.
