Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Site Reliability Engineer (L2 Support) will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, performance, and operational stability of business-critical applications and platform services. This includes managing services hosted across GCP, OCI, Kubernetes, network services, Kafka, Redis, S3-compatible storage, event bus, and databases. The role requires hands-on experience in incident management, monitoring, troubleshooting, service restoration, and automation support using observability tools such as Grafana, Tempo, Loki, and Prometheus.

  • Provide L2 support for incidents, service requests, and operational issues across various platforms.
  • Own incident triage, technical investigation, service restoration, and documentation for priority incidents.
  • Perform deep-dive troubleshooting using metrics, logs, traces, and other telemetry data.
  • Monitor service availability, latency, error rates, and capacity trends.
  • Support major incident management by providing technical analysis and impact assessment.
  • Coordinate with L1 teams for alert validation and initial diagnostics.
  • Escalate complex issues to L3 engineering and other relevant teams with clear technical evidence.
  • Execute approved operational tasks including service restarts, log reviews, and configuration checks.
  • Identify recurring incidents and contribute to problem management through root cause analysis.
  • Create and maintain SOPs, knowledge articles, and operational runbooks.
  • Support automation and standardization of repetitive operational tasks.
  • Participate in change implementation support, including pre- and post-change monitoring.

Hands-on experience in L2 production support, platform support, cloud operations, or Kubernetes operations is essential. Familiarity with GCP and OCI services, Kubernetes concepts, and network services is required. Experience supporting Kafka, Redis, S3-compatible storage, and event bus platforms is also necessary. Proficiency with observability tools like Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, and Tempo is crucial for this role.

  • 3–6 years of experience in SRE, platform support, cloud operations, Kubernetes operations, or application production support.
  • Working knowledge of GCP and OCI services.

Experience supporting business-critical production environments with defined SLAs and operational governance processes is expected. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical thinking and structured troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure during high-severity incidents. Collaboration skills across various technical teams are important, as is a willingness to continuously learn and improve skills across the supported technology stack.
