About the Role

Bupa Arabia is seeking a Specialist Clinical Nutritionist to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time position is integral to the Bupa CareConnect multidisciplinary care team, focusing on delivering evidence-based nutritional assessments, therapeutic dietary counseling, and individualized care planning. The role supports patients in both digital and physical clinic settings, addressing a range of nutrition-related conditions including obesity, diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and other chronic diseases. The primary objective is to empower patients to achieve improved health outcomes through sustainable dietary and lifestyle modifications, promoting preventive health and enhancing self-management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments, including detailed dietary history, anthropometric measurements, biochemical data review, and clinical history analysis.
  • Develop individualized, evidence-based nutrition care plans aligned with each patient's specific medical diagnosis and health goals.
  • Continuously monitor patient progress and adjust nutrition care plans based on clinical outcomes and patient feedback.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of all patient assessments and care plans within the designated clinical documentation system.
  • Provide nutritional consultations via telemedicine platforms (video calls, phone, secure messaging) and in-person appointments.
  • Uphold professional communication standards and maintain a patient-centered approach across all consultation modalities.
  • Ensure seamless continuity of nutritional care between virtual and in-person patient visits.
  • Document all consultations accurately and promptly in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, including timely scheduling of follow-up appointments.
  • Design and implement evidence-based therapeutic nutrition plans for patients managing chronic conditions such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS).
  • Apply targeted nutritional interventions to support the management of each patient's specific chronic condition.
  • Monitor patient adherence to prescribed nutrition plans and track clinical outcomes over time.
  • Coordinate closely with physicians and other care team members for integrated management of complex clinical presentations.
  • Deliver evidence-based nutritional education on topics including healthy eating principles, meal planning, weight management, and preventive health.
  • Utilize motivational interviewing and behavior change techniques to foster patient engagement and adherence.
  • Provide culturally appropriate and patient-centered educational materials and guidance.
  • Follow up with patients to reinforce healthy lifestyle habits and monitor behavior change sustainability.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, psychologists, health coaches, and allied health professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
  • Actively participate in multidisciplinary case reviews and collaborative care planning discussions.
  • Clearly communicate clinical nutrition findings and recommendations to all members of the healthcare team.
  • Support the implementation of integrated care pathways for patients with complex or chronic nutrition-related conditions.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely patient records in the EMR system, adhering to all organizational standards.
  • Comply with all organizational policies, clinical governance frameworks, and patient confidentiality requirements.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits within the nutrition service.
  • Ensure compliance with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS), Council of Cooperative Health Insurance (CBAHI), and other applicable regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Clinical Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of relevant professional experience.
  • SCFHS classification and active registration as a Specialist Clinical Nutritionist / Dietitian.
