About the Role

King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz University Hospital is seeking a Staff Nurse 1 - Women's Health to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of experience and focuses on providing patient-driven care within a wellness environment, aligning with organizational standards of practice including integrity, leadership development, and professional conduct.

Job Purpose

The Staff Nurse 1 provides exceptional patient care and supports staff empowerment. The role involves utilizing the nursing process, adhering to hospital policies and procedures, and operating within the scope of practice to deliver compassionate, safe, and effective patient care. Clinical oversight for junior staff within the team is also a key aspect of this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process, evidence-based knowledge, and empathy in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients, considering holistic needs.
• Implement nursing plans of care, interventions, and procedures, taking into account patient condition, culture, and medical plans.
• Advocate for patients by guiding best practices and standards of care within the multidisciplinary team.
• Report patient deterioration to physicians and escalate issues via the chain of command as necessary.
• Initiate discharge planning upon admission to reduce length of stay and ensure patient safety.
• Document all care accurately, completely, and in a timely manner, and demonstrate necessary computer skills.
• Educate patients and families on condition management, health promotion, and disease prevention.
• Participate in professional development, training, and share knowledge with colleagues.
• Utilize leadership skills as a nurse in charge of shifts, ensuring effective communication for patient safety.
• Report potential safety hazards, equipment failures, or resource insufficiencies to supervisors.
• Contribute to improving quality outcomes, including patient and staff satisfaction.
• Identify opportunities for improvement based on evidence-based practices and participate in relevant projects.
• Respect patients and families, promoting a patient-centered care culture, and participate in quality improvement and patient safety activities.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of relevant nursing experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills in critical thinking for implementing nursing care plans.
• Ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency in computer skills necessary for carrying out duties.
• Strong communication and conflict negotiation skills.
