About the Strategic Accounts Manager Role
Amazon is seeking a motivated Strategic Accounts Manager to join its team, focused on supporting businesses in becoming successful Selling Partners on ******* This full-time role is responsible for driving the growth and satisfaction of Selling Partners through strategic insights and high operational standards. The position requires 5-10 years of experience.
Role Overview and Responsibilities
The Strategic Accounts Manager will own business and operational objectives within the Direct Seller Recruiting team, focusing on acquiring key account partners. This role involves developing and executing strategies to grow a portfolio of business, ensuring best-in-class onboarding for new Selling Partners, and driving growth for strategic merchants within specific product families.
- Identify, prospect, and recruit high-potential strategic merchants via phone or email.
- Manage a pipeline of sellers to meet or exceed quarterly targets.
- Act as a business partner to new sellers, providing data-driven insights and advice for optimization on Amazon.
- Educate sellers on Amazon's standards for delivery and customer experience.
- Enable sellers to independently manage their catalog, inventory, and performance using Amazon's tools and systems.
- Develop expertise in assigned categories, including popular brands, trends, seasonal items, and pricing, to tailor pitches and advice.
- Track and report business development results, analyzing data and interpreting reports for the seller portfolio.
- Prioritize time effectively to achieve targets in a results-oriented environment.
- Identify and advise on improvements to business input metrics that drive growth and enhance the end customer experience, in collaboration with other Amazon teams.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure timely, accurate, and professional operational support for all Selling Partners.
Selling Partner Relationship Management
This role involves building strong relationships with Selling Partners across the assigned portfolio and category. Responsibilities include proactively developing joint business plan action items and serving as a point of escalation for emerging issues. The manager will also monitor satisfaction survey results and feedback to identify trends, establish improvement plans, and manage expectations with Account Managers.
Program and Process Enhancement
The Strategic Accounts Manager will collaborate with internal departments to enhance tools and processes that improve the Selling Partner experience and drive Account Manager productivity. This includes identifying, quantifying, and defining feature enhancements and new products based on customer feedback, data analysis, and competitive gaps.
Leadership and Strategic Contribution
This position requires raising the standard for Account Managers by prioritizing strategic initiatives and escalation support. The role involves acting as a thought leader in defining success criteria and understanding Selling Partner business needs in a dynamic environment, contributing to and leading strategic plans. Collaboration with external teams such as Category Management, Finance, Global Account Management, and Central Support is essential to align programs and initiatives. The role also includes leading recruiting and hiring efforts for the direct team and the broader organization.
Qualifications
Basic qualifications include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 5+ years of experience in sales or marketing roles such as e-commerce, retail technology, or SaaS. Preferred qualifications include experience influencing at all organizational levels, particularly at the executive level, and a proven track record of exceeding sales targets using a consultative, solutions-focused approach.
