W Hotels is seeking a dedicated and experienced Restaurant Supervisor to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is central to ensuring exceptional guest service and maintaining high operational standards within our restaurant environment. The Supervisor will play a crucial role in leading staff performance and supporting overall management functions.

Role Summary

The Restaurant Supervisor is responsible for fostering a collaborative team environment to deliver optimal service and meet guest needs consistently. This involves direct oversight of staff performance, ensuring adherence to established operational protocols, and providing essential support to the management team in various capacities, from daily operations to employee development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and ensure staff collaboration to provide optimum service and achieve guest satisfaction.
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures, including setup, cleaning, and securing the premises.
  • Inspect storage areas for organization, cleanliness, and compliance with FIFO principles.
  • Conduct scheduled inventories and manage supply requisitions.
  • Monitor dining areas to ensure seating availability, service quality, safety, and guest well-being.
  • Complete work orders for necessary maintenance and repairs.
  • Assist management with employee-related tasks such as hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching.
  • Serve as a role model and initial point of contact for the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy.
  • Ensure compliance with all company, safety, and security policies and procedures, including reporting incidents and completing required training.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, protect company assets, and uphold confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Welcome guests according to company standards, anticipate service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and express genuine appreciation.
  • Communicate professionally and clearly with guests and colleagues, fostering positive working relationships and supporting team goals.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to increase organizational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and cost-savings.

Qualifications and Experience

  • High school diploma or *** equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of related work experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience is essential.
  • No specific license or certification is required for this position.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The role operates within a dynamic restaurant environment and requires the ability to perform various physical tasks. Candidates must be able to:

  • Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or an entire work shift.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces, and navigate stairs and/or service ramps.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Read and visually verify information in various formats, and visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines for defects.
