Role Overview

The Team Lead, Network & Voice will guide a team of network engineers and specialists. This developing management role is crucial for ensuring the team's success in delivering and maintaining an efficient network infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate on the design and architecture of network solutions, including LAN, WAN, data center, and cloud networks, ensuring alignment with business requirements and industry best practices.
• Provide technical guidance and oversight for network solution design, configuration, and implementation.
• Review and approve network designs and configurations.
• Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless controllers.
• Lead network-related projects, including establishing project plans, allocating resources, and ensuring timely completion within scope.
• Optimize network performance by analyzing traffic patterns, implementing QoS measures, and making configuration adjustments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems administrators, security teams, application developers, and business stakeholders.
• Communicate effectively to ensure smooth project execution and knowledge sharing.
• Establish and enforce technical standards, best practices, and governance processes for network engineering.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and security policies.
• Foster skill development, encourage continuous learning, and promote a culture of innovation within the team.
• Manage relationships with network equipment vendors, service providers, and technology partners, including evaluating offerings and negotiating contracts.
• Ensure network solutions meet security requirements through effective security measures, access controls, and monitoring systems.
• Plan network capacity and scalability to accommodate business growth and evolving needs.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in network engineering is required, with progressive roles in design, implementation, and leadership. Solid experience working in a networking environment, with a focus on network security, WAN, and LAN is essential. Experience with wireless equipment, protocols, standards, and wireless LAN design is also necessary. Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, etc.) and network automation concepts is considered a plus. Relevant experience leading and managing a networking engineering team is required.

Technical Skills and Certifications

Proficiency in networking concepts, protocols, architectures, and services is fundamental. Candidates must be skilled in configuring and managing complex network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless controllers. Knowledge of advanced network protocols and technologies such as BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs, QoS, and security protocols is required. Good documentation and communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences are necessary. Project management, resource allocation, and budget management abilities are also key. Strong problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving complex network issues are expected. Developing people management capabilities with a focus on collaboration and fostering innovation, along with the ability to manage and lead technical teams, are important.

Network Administration certification (Azure, Google, Amazon) is preferred. Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or Juniper Networks Certified Associate (JNCIA) are beneficial. Certifications like Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), Juniper Networks Certified Internet Expert (JNCIE), or equivalent are preferred.
