The Opportunity: Urban Planner IV

AECOM is seeking an Urban Planner IV to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position for a seasoned professional with over 10 years of experience in urban planning. The role involves developing and evaluating planning products, ensuring compliance with regulations, and advising on planning-related matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and evaluate plans and criteria for projects and activities to be carried out by others.
  • Assess the feasibility and soundness of proposed planning products.
  • Serve as a staff advisor and consultant on technical specialties, facility types, industry, equipment, or program functions.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
  • Oversee specialized planning functions, including large-scale new development proposals and environmental studies.
  • Provide overall management of IE-related planning issues.
  • Advise the Planning Director on all planning-related matters.
  • Advise various councils, boards, commissions, and elected officials on planning-related issues.
  • Evaluate operations and activities within assigned responsibilities.
  • Prepare reports on operations and activities, recommending improvements and modifications.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in urban planning or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and evaluate complex planning projects.
  • Proficiency in assessing the feasibility and compliance of planning proposals.
  • Experience in advising on planning issues to various stakeholders and officials.
