About the Role

iMerit Technology is announcing its need for highly proficient Arabic speakers to participate in a fully remote, short-term audio transcription project. This contract role offers a competitive hourly wage and is suitable for individuals seeking flexible part-time work. The project is expected to last between 4 to 6 weeks, requiring approximately 4 to 8 hours of work per week, spread over 5 days with flexible timing. The primary goal is to convert high-quality audio files into accurate written text, ensuring precision and natural flow in Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) or specific dialects as per instructions.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Listen to audio recordings and transcribe them verbatim into text format.
Maintain a high level of accuracy exceeding 99%, effectively handling various dialects, technical jargon, and contextual nuances within the audio.
Work independently and manage assigned tasks within the flexible weekly hour commitment.

Qualifications and Requirements

Bilingual proficiency in Arabic, equivalent to CEFR C1/C2 level or higher.
Excellent typing speed and meticulous attention to detail are essential for accurate transcription.
A reliable internet connection, a quiet and dedicated workspace, and preferably headphones are required to ensure optimal audio clarity.
Previous experience in transcription, subtitling, or data annotation is a strong advantage.
