We are seeking a highly skilled Quality NDE Technician - RT to safely and efficiently operate the Linear Accelerator (Linac) radiographic system to perform industrial radiographic testing (RT) in compliance with applicable codes, safety regulations, and company procedures. This role ensures the production of high-quality radiographic images, proper storage and traceability of films and digital records, and supports cross-functional NDT / QC activities.

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality NDE Technician - RT to safely and efficiently operate the Linear Accelerator (Linac) radiographic system to perform industrial radiographic testing (RT) in compliance with applicable codes, safety regulations, and company procedures. This role ensures the production of high-quality radiographic images, proper storage and traceability of films and digital records, and supports cross-functional NDT / QC activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate Linac and associated RT equipment in accordance with manufacturer operating manual, approved procedures and NRRC & TCF EHSS regulatory requirements.
- Prepare components, position films or digital detectors, and set appropriate exposure parameters to achieve required image quality.
- Ensure radiation safety at all times through proper area control, monitoring, and adherence to the Radiation Protection Program (RPP).
- Handle flim processing process, and store radiographic films a record securely, ensuring proper labeling, traceability, and protection from damage or deterioration.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of exposure logs, film identification, technique sheets, and inspection results.
- Perform regular radiation surveys, equipment performance checks, and preventive maintenance of Linac and related accessories.
- Perform RT film interpretation, evaluation, and reporting.
- Participate in cross-functional NDT operations including MT, PT, and UT when required, to support overall inspection schedules.
- Ensure inspection techniques comply with applicable standards (ASME, ASTM, API, ISO, etc.) and customer specifications.
- Support internal and external audits for inspections, and regulatory reviews.
- Report equipment malfunctions, safety issues, or nonconformities immediately to the TCF EHSS or Radiation Safety Officer (RSO).
- Work closely with RSO for dose record and other documentation relevant Radiography safety.
- Adhere to all site safety rules, quality management system (QMS) procedures, and environmental protection policies.
Requirements:
- Industrial Training Institute (ITI) or Diploma or Higher related engineering discipline.
- ASNT / PCN / ISO 9712 Level II in at least Four method - (*, RT, UT, MT, PT).
- Previous Linac system training and certification preferred.
- Radiation Safety certification (where applicable) is preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of industrial radiography experience, with at least 1 year operating Linear Accelerator (Linac) equipment.
- Experience in radiographic inspection of welds, castings, and forgings or heavy manufacturing sectors. Experience managing large NDE facilities in casting, forging, Oil & Gas, or Aerospace industries preferred.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, inspection standards, and test procedures.
- Proficient in operating RT Linac Equipment & UT, MT, PT NDE instruments.
- Strong understanding of radiation safety principles, ALARA practices, and NRRC regulatory compliance.
- Proficient in radiographic development, exposure calculation, and image quality assessment.
- Skilled in film handling, storage, and digital record management.
- Ability to work across multiple NDT methods (MT, PT, UT).
- Knowledge of defect types typical in castings and forgings.
- MS-office, documentation, and Email communication skills.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
