About Saudi Diesel Equipment Company and the Role

Saudi Diesel Equipment Company (SDEC) is a leading distributor of equipment and a provider of custom industrial equipment solutions, recognized for its dynamic product portfolio and strong customer orientation. We are inviting applications for a Power Service Electrician to join our team in Al Khobar, Eastern Province. This full-time role requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Role Purpose

The Power Service Electrician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of industrial machinery and equipment. This role involves utilizing various tools and techniques to troubleshoot problems, repair or replace worn or broken parts, and ensure minimal downtime for equipment operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret electrical drawings and blueprints.
  • Perform voltage changes on generators based on customer requirements.
  • Re-wire, adjust, upgrade, and install control panels and voltage regulators.
  • Diagnose issues with alternators and adjust speed controls and various settings.
  • Conduct load bank tests on generators.
  • Install, maintain, and enhance electrical systems and components, including fuses, lights, and wiring.
  • Inspect, test, and diagnose issues within electrical systems and components, ensuring proper functioning and adherence to electrical codes and standards.
  • Utilize electronic software and tools for diagnosing, repairing, and reprogramming generator controllers and related parameters.
  • Determine necessary parts and special tools, manage inventory, and calibrate equipment to specifications.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components.
  • Complete thorough and timely documentation of repairs and service information, and provide inputs for the Work Instruction Manual.
  • Work closely with the Workshop Supervisor and Service Manager on project progress and estimates.
  • Adhere to all company Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) policies, procedures, and legal requirements, including proper use of PPE and reporting incidents.
  • Maintain a safe work environment at all sites and actively participate in safety trainings and emergency drills.

Qualifications and Professional Experience

  • Technical Diploma or Associate Degree with a major in Electrical engineering.
  • Technical training certificates from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
  • A valid Driving License, preferably a GCC driving license.
  • 2-5 years of experience in maintaining and repairing industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Experience in servicing and repairing alternators from brands such as Stamford, Marelli, Leroy-Somer, and Mecc Alte.
  • Proven experience with control panel components like ATS, MCCB, MCB, PLCs, and busbars for applications such as synchronization.
  • Prior experience in customer-facing roles is preferred.

Essential Skills and Technical Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of electrical components of gensets, including alternators and control panels.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and field repair of large, sophisticated high or low-speed diesel-driven generators (low, medium, and high voltage up to *****
  • Familiarity with control devices such as auto-start, auto load share, auto-parallel, auto-stop, and synchronizing systems.
  • Ability to program controllers like Deep Sea and various Synchronization systems.
  • Practical knowledge of Mechanical, Thermal, Hydraulic, and Electronics principles.
  • Capability to perform welding, fabrication, and calibration as required.
  • Thorough knowledge of Diesel Engine, Fuel, Lubrication, Cooling, and Exhaust systems, particularly for power generation and Oil & Gas applications.
  • Highly proficient in Technical English for effective communication.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, especially MS Outlook and Calendar.
  • Strong commitment to health and safety guidelines.
  • Demonstrated analytical and systematic problem-solving approach.
