About the Role

Nalco Water, an Ecolab Company, is seeking an Area Manager for its Basic Industries Division. This full-time position is based in Dammam, Eastern, Saudi Arabia. The primary responsibility of this role is to drive revenue and profit growth for Nalco Water programs and services within targeted accounts in the water industries. The Area Manager will employ a consultative sales approach, focusing on strong account leadership and the retention of strategic Nalco Water accounts.

Key Responsibilities

The Area Manager will build long-term relationships with a diverse customer base by understanding their key business drivers, executing system assurance programs, and selling new technologies. This includes:

  • Working closely with current and new customers to understand business needs and recommend continuous improvement and innovation plans.
  • Leveraging extensive product, service, and market knowledge in customer interactions.
  • Monitoring local and regional competition, market shares, and pricing within the assigned area.
  • Developing strong relationships with key stakeholders, including plant or facility executives.
  • Executing sales plans in assigned customer bases and new accounts to meet defined territory profit increase goals.
  • Actively selling and supporting Nalco Water innovations and technology to promote long-term business relationships.
  • Anticipating customer needs based on knowledge of customer processes and operations, and identifying unmet customer needs.

Technical Support and Operational Oversight

This role also involves providing essential technical support and ensuring optimal operational performance for customers:

  • Providing technical support to customers, including identifying and resolving customer complaints, escalating as required.
  • Engaging in problem-solving by performing system analysis, interpreting data, and providing written recommendations to ensure optimal customer operations.
  • Monitoring, tracking, and maintaining adequate field chemical inventories and equipment.
  • Providing analytics and delivering all reports required by customer contracts and internal reporting responsibilities, such as service reports.

Leadership and Collaboration

The Area Manager will contribute to district-level strategies and foster internal collaboration:

  • Providing support to the district by aligning with customers and the marketplace on pricing strategies, service models, efficiencies, potential revenue streams, product profitability, defending existing business, and prospecting.
  • Undertaking supervisory responsibilities, including mentoring, coaching, and training District Representatives.
  • Collaborating in cross-functional projects within Nalco Water to promote knowledge transfer and the delivery of innovative processes and programs.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a proven track record of success in technical sales and meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience in technical sales.
  • Demonstrated success in driving revenue and profit growth.
  • Strong account leadership skills and the ability to build long-term customer relationships.

Physical Requirements

The role requires certain physical capabilities:

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 55 pounds (25 kg) chest high.
