Job Description

About the Role

HUDSON is seeking an experienced Construction Mechanical Engineer to manage and coordinate mechanical construction activities for Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, and Refinery projects in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves ensuring that all mechanical construction work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, schedules, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate mechanical construction and installation activities at project sites.
  • Ensure mechanical works adhere to approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project schedules.
  • Coordinate with Construction Managers, Planning, Engineering, QA/QC, HSE, Procurement, and subcontractor teams.
  • Monitor daily construction progress and ensure activities are completed within the planned schedule.
  • Oversee mechanical installation activities, including equipment, piping, valves, pumps, compressors, tanks, and related mechanical systems.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, material requirements, and construction documents.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors for proper allocation of manpower, equipment, and materials.
  • Monitor site activities and resolve technical and construction-related issues in coordination with engineering teams.
  • Ensure all mechanical works comply with approved quality standards, specifications, and client requirements.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspections, testing, and completion of mechanical works.
  • Ensure strict compliance with HSE requirements, permit-to-work procedures, and site safety standards.
  • Participate in site meetings, progress meetings, and coordination meetings with clients and contractors.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly construction progress reports.
  • Identify potential delays and coordinate with the planning team for corrective and recovery actions.
  • Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, shutdown, turnaround, and maintenance activities, where applicable.
  • Ensure proper documentation, punch-list clearance, as-built information, and project handover activities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Mechanical Construction, with a total experience range of 5-10 years.
  • Strong experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Refinery projects is required.
  • Relevant Mechanical Engineering qualification.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in mechanical construction and site execution.
  • Experience in equipment installation, piping, mechanical systems, and associated construction activities.
  • Candidates with Saudi Arabia or GCC experience are preferred.
  • Shutdown & Turnaround experience is highly preferred.

Required Skills

  • Good knowledge of construction procedures, specifications, drawings, and safety requirements.
  • Strong coordination, supervision, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good English communication and reporting skills.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, focusing on significant projects within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, and Refinery sectors.
