About the Role

Hitachi Energy, a global leader in electrification technologies, is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join its team in Dammam, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position focuses on the installation, testing, and commissioning of high-voltage (HV) products at customer sites and Hitachi Energy projects. The role is integral to the successful deployment and operation of advanced power grid technologies, supporting a sustainable energy future.

With over a century of experience in mission-critical technologies, Hitachi Energy addresses urgent energy challenges. As a Field Service Engineer, you will contribute to balancing electricity demand and decarbonizing the power system through your expertise in HV products and related systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in site activities, including the installation, testing, and commissioning of Hitachi HV GIS, GCB, LTB, DTB, and other assigned equipment.
• Coordinate with the tools management department to ensure proper handling, arrangement, and utilization of HV tools and test equipment for site activities related to HV products installation, testing, commissioning, protection, and control.
• Complete GIS installation and compartment assembly, perform minor fabrications, troubleshoot and rectify defects in HV products at customer sites, and advise on repair plans for work requiring factory or workshop intervention.
• Support the work activities of PGHV Service at customer sites or workplaces.
• Learn and operate test equipment for HV product testing and maintenance, and gain expertise in using tools for HV products service jobs.
• Collaborate with the Project Management team, ensuring compliance with project requirements and adhering to site regulations.
• Lead contractors or subcontractors during job execution, coordinating with customers and back-office support for necessary resources.
• Obtain Provisional Acceptance Certificates (PAC) or customer sign-off on timesheets upon task completion to facilitate invoicing.
• Prepare and submit site reports, activity plans, and resource requirements to management.
• Adhere to company rules and regulations, maintain professional conduct on-site and in the office, and report safety or integrity incidents.
• Implement company values in daily activities.
• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly timesheets and expense reports in a timely manner.
• Prepare travel authorizations prior to commencing any travel for site visits or deployments.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Qualifications and Requirements

• A bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 3-4 years of previous experience in high voltage products, electrical equipment, switchgears, HV switchgear protection and control, and monitoring and measuring devices, within industries or utilities companies.
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Arabic languages is required.
