This full-time position is based in Makkah, with responsibilities spanning Jeddah and Makkah. The role requires a minimum of 10 years of experience.
Role Overview and Responsibilities
The Associate Director will be responsible for developing and executing the commercial agenda for the Snacking & Convenience Business Unit. This involves translating the BU strategy into actionable channel plans to achieve sustainable revenue growth, margin improvement, and in-market excellence. Key responsibilities include driving trade investment effectiveness, channel development, and execution standards. The role requires close collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to ensure aligned and consistent delivery.
Commercial Planning and Channel Strategy
This role involves translating the Business Unit strategy into annual and mid-term commercial plans across various channels. The Associate Director will be accountable for delivering revenue, margin, and trade investment targets, tracking performance against these targets, and implementing corrective actions as needed. A significant part of the role includes leading commercial inputs into forecasting and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes. Developing and executing channel strategies across Modern Trade, Traditional Trade, Wholesale, E-commerce, and Convenience channels is also a core function. This includes driving distribution, assortment, and visibility expansion in priority customer accounts and identifying growth opportunities.
Trade Investment, Execution, and Market Intelligence
The Associate Director will plan and manage trade spend across channels and customers, ensuring all investments are linked to clear Return on Investment (ROI) and performance outcomes. Evaluating promotion effectiveness and optimizing spend allocation are critical. Ensuring effective execution of commercial plans across all channels, driving availability, visibility, and activation standards in line with BU priorities, and monitoring execution KPIs to address gaps are also key responsibilities. The role requires analyzing performance data to support decision-making and continuous improvement, generating actionable insights on pricing, promotions, and assortment, and monitoring competitor activities to define appropriate response actions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Team Leadership
This position necessitates strong partnerships with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to ensure aligned execution of commercial plans with brand priorities, demand planning, and financial targets. The Associate Director will also manage budgets and ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting, maintaining compliance with company financial policies and governance standards. Leading, coaching, and developing the Trade Marketing team, setting clear objectives, priorities, and performance standards are integral to this role.
Qualifications and Required Skills
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; a Master's degree is considered a plus. A minimum of 8–12 years of experience in the FMCG sector is required, with strong exposure to Trade Marketing, Channel Management, or Commercial Planning. Solid experience across key channels including Modern Trade, Traditional Trade, Wholesale, E-commerce, and Convenience is essential. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of distribution, in-store execution, and customer dynamics, with experience in trade marketing campaigns, visibility materials, planograms, and budget management. Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a team, along with strong cross-functional collaboration experience, is necessary. Fluency in both Arabic and English is required.
