About the Butler Role at Raffles Jeddah

Accor is seeking a dedicated and experienced Butler to join the team at Raffles Hotel Jeddah. This full-time position is based in Jeddah and is central to delivering world-class luxury service to guests. The Raffles Hotel Jeddah combines expert service with the brand's high standards and trademark elegance, ensuring a distinguished stay for all guests.

Role Purpose and Context

The Butler serves as a primary point of contact for guests, providing personalized and attentive service throughout their stay. This role ensures that all guest needs are anticipated and met with the utmost discretion and professionalism, upholding the exceptional standards synonymous with the Raffles brand within a luxury hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet arriving guests and provide a detailed orientation of their rooms and facilities.
  • Coordinate with room service for all food and beverage items served in rooms, including subsequent removal of used items.
  • Oversee the servicing of guest rooms and assist Housekeeping in cleaning and maintaining all rooms to the required standard.
  • Maintain guests’ personal items, clothing, and wardrobes in a clean and neat fashion throughout their stay.
  • Collect, process, check, and deliver all guest valet requirements, including simple pressing of clothing as needed.
  • Unpack and pack guests’ luggage upon request.
  • Ensure the Butler’s pantry is kept clean and orderly at all times.
  • Maintain stock and manage charges for in-suite bars.
  • Assist guests with room and local information, making bookings and reservations as required.
  • Provide assistance in other areas as needed, including restaurant, reception, luggage services, and back-of-house cleaning and maintenance.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Butler or in a similar role within the luxury hospitality industry.
  • Proven supervisory experience in managing a team of service professionals.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; a Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred.
  • Professional butler certification is considered an advantage.

Required Skills and Attributes

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective interaction with guests, team members, and other departments.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a talent for mentoring and developing staff.
  • Proficiency in household management software and the MS Office suite.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Superior time management and multitasking abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of etiquette, protocol, and luxury service standards.
  • Familiarity with Middle Eastern customs and etiquette is highly advantageous.

Work Environment and Additional Requirements

  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion at all times.
