About the Role

Shangri-La Hotel in Jeddah is seeking a skilled Sous Chef specializing in Garde Manger to join its culinary team. This full-time position is responsible for maintaining high standards within the Production Kitchen, ensuring excellence in food preparation, service, and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities

The Sous Chef - Garde Manger will oversee kitchen operations across all meal periods. A key aspect of the role involves actively engaging with guests and colleagues during operating hours to gather feedback. This position requires a commitment to upholding the Guiding Principles and Core Values of Shangri-La Hospitality. Responsibilities also include minimizing waste through effective reuse or sale of supplies and materials. The role involves attending scheduled training sessions and participating in briefings. Coordination with outlet managers for daily events and regular communication with staff through one-on-one counseling are also essential duties.

Experience and Qualifications

Candidates must possess a minimum of 6 years of experience within international luxury hospitality. The ideal applicant will be a natural mentor and team builder, demonstrating strong leadership qualities. Essential attributes include creativity, cultural sensitivity, and a genuine passion for guest engagement.

Required Skills

Fluent communication in English is a mandatory requirement for this role. Proficiency in additional languages will be considered an advantage.
