About the Role

Shangri-La Hotel in Jeddah is seeking a Sous Chef - Garde Manger to join its culinary team. This full-time position requires a dedicated professional to uphold high standards within the Production Kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee kitchen operations across all meal periods.
  • Engage with colleagues and guests to gather feedback by maintaining a visible presence in outlets during operating hours.
  • Uphold and embody the Guiding Principles and Core Values of Shangri-La Hospitality.
  • Minimize waste of supplies and materials through effective re-use or sale strategies.
  • Attend scheduled training sessions.
  • Conduct and attend operational briefings.
  • Coordinate with outlet managers regarding daily events and operational needs.
  • Communicate regularly with staff through one-on-one counseling sessions.

Experience and Qualifications

  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in international luxury hospitality is required.
  • Proven ability to mentor and build a cohesive team.
  • Demonstrated creativity, cultural sensitivity, and a genuine commitment to guest engagement.
  • Fluent communication in English is essential; proficiency in additional languages is considered an advantage.

Work Environment

This role is based in Jeddah and operates on a full-time basis within the Shangri-La Hotel.
