About the Role

Bupa Arabia is seeking a Consultant - Family Medicine for a full-time position in Jeddah. This role involves providing comprehensive primary healthcare services to individuals and families of all ages, utilizing both in-person and telemedicine modalities. The position focuses on preventive, acute, and chronic care, with an emphasis on diagnosing and treating medical conditions, promoting health education, and coordinating care with specialists to improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive telehealth and in-person consultations for family medicine and general medicine complaints.
  • Provide healthcare services to patients across all age groups and genders.
  • Offer consultations and follow-up for chronic diseases and preventive care according to clinical guidelines.
  • Utilize video conferencing platforms for symptom assessment, medical history review, and virtual examinations.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans, prescribe medications, and provide patient education.
  • Deliver high-quality medical consultations and oversee ongoing care for chronic and acute conditions.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Engage in population health management by identifying community health issues and implementing preventive measures.
  • Document patient findings and treatment plans meticulously in patient records.

Professional Duties and Compliance

  • Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up care.
  • Adhere to all relevant medical regulations, ethical guidelines, and quality assurance standards for both telehealth and in-person practice.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of telehealth regulations and best practices.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and research activities.
  • Review compliance protocols, participate in training sessions, and collaborate with compliance officers to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Prepare reports for audits and inspections and stay updated on changes in healthcare regulations.

Telehealth and Patient Care Standards

  • Maintain accurate and complete patient records in accordance with relevant regulations.
  • Utilize the designated telehealth platform, including video conferencing, secure messaging, and EHR integration.
  • Participate in training programs and stay updated on platform enhancements and collaborate with IT support for technical troubleshooting.
  • Maintain compliance with all patient safety standards and report any patient safety risks or issues.
  • Practice safe medicine, explain medication side effects and proper use, and implement safety protocols to minimize risks.
  • Ensure satisfactory patient consultations through effective communication, empathy, and understanding, and monitor patient feedback for continuous improvement.

Professional Development and Collaboration

  • Continuously enhance professional knowledge and skills in family medicine, in-person care, and telehealth best practices.
  • Attend relevant conferences, workshops, and online courses to stay abreast of advancements in the field.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care and facilitate communication regarding patient status and needs.
  • Share insights and recommendations to support patient-centered care approaches and mentor junior staff on clinical protocols.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in Family Medicine. Proficiency in telehealth platforms and a commitment to continuous professional development are essential.
