About the Role

Aquat Food Industries is seeking a detail-oriented Data Analytics and AI Specialist to join their team in the Makkah Region, specifically in Jeddah and Makkah. This full-time position focuses on transforming raw data into actionable insights to support business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends, anomalies, and drivers of business performance.
• Apply statistical methods, including descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing, correlation/regression, and basic forecasting, to support decision-making.
• Build and maintain interactive dashboards and analytical outputs using Power BI, focusing on DAX, data modeling, performance optimization, and data storytelling.
• Develop and optimize data models and semantic layers, including star schema, dimensional modeling, measures, and KPIs.
• Extract, transform, and validate data from various sources such as SAP HANA, ERP systems, spreadsheets, and APIs.
• Define and track KPI definitions in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring consistent metric governance across teams.
• Create clear reports and executive-ready insights through data storytelling and root-cause analysis.
• Ensure data quality and maintain documentation, including data dictionaries, refresh schedules, and report logic.
• Collaborate with IT and Data teams on data access, security, and data pipeline management.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
• Strong working knowledge of statistics and analytical thinking, with the ability to select appropriate methods for specific problems.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI, including data modeling and DAX.
• Proficiency in SQL, with experience in querying, joins, aggregates, and window functions being a plus.
• Strong communication skills, enabling clear explanation of insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience working with SAP HANA, including calculation views, SQLScript exposure, and performance concepts.
• Experience with Python or R for analytics, including libraries such as pandas, statsmodels, and basic scikit-learn.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled analytics tools, such as Copilot, AutoML, forecasting tools, and LLM-assisted analysis.
• Experience in manufacturing, operations, or finance analytics, including KPIs like OEE, yield, scrap, and supply chain metrics.
• Knowledge of data governance practices, including data quality checks, access control, and documentation.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position located in the Makkah Region, with opportunities in Jeddah and Makkah. The role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders and IT/Data teams.

Success Metrics (First 90 Days)

Success in the first 90 days will be measured by the delivery of 2–3 high-impact dashboards or reports aligned with key business KPIs, the establishment of consistent KPI definitions and improved data quality for at least one critical dataset, and the reduction of manual reporting time through automation and optimized refresh models.
