About the Life Guard Role

Marriott Hotels & Resorts is seeking a dedicated Life Guard to join our team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is crucial for ensuring the safety and enjoyment of guests within the swimming facilities. The Life Guard is responsible for vigilant observation, emergency response, and upholding facility standards and guest service excellence.

Core Responsibilities

• Observe the swimming area for dangerous conditions, unusual or unsafe activities, and swimmers who are struggling.
• Utilize appropriate rescue techniques if observing swimmers in need of assistance.
• Provide immediate assistance to injured guests until the arrival of emergency medical services.
• Promote and enforce the rules and regulations of the recreation facility.
• Identify possible situations where guests are unable to safely participate in an activity and inform supervisors.
• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management.
• Complete all required safety training and certifications.
• Follow company policies and procedures, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.

Guest Service and Facility Standards

• Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, promoting a fun and relaxing atmosphere.
• Anticipate and address guests’ service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation.
• Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
• Communicate with others using clear and professional language.
• Support all co-workers and treat them with dignity and respect.
• Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
• Obtain, fold, and stack towels according to company procedures.
• Wash, mop, and clean the pool deck.

Physical Demands

• Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines to identify defects.
• Move at a speed required to respond to work situations, including running, walking, or jogging.
• Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance, and objects weighing in excess of 75 pounds with assistance.
• Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, as well as up and down ladders, stairs, and/or service ramps.
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

Qualifications and Experience

• High school diploma or *** equivalent.
• No related work experience required.
• This position is open to Saudi nationals only.

Required Certifications

• Current CPR Certification.
• Current First Aid Certification.
• Certification or knowledge of Fitness Equipment.
• Any additional certification or training required by local and state agencies.
