The Role: Maintenance Services Technician II
Panasonic Avionics Corporation is seeking Maintenance Services Technicians II (Licensed Technicians) for full-time positions based in Jiddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This role is responsible for performing line maintenance activities on Aircraft In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) systems and other aircraft-installed equipment. The objective is to ensure optimum system performance, reliability, and serviceability, with expected onboarding to commence from December 2026.
The technician inspects, troubleshoots, tests, repairs, and certifies avionics and cabin systems in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, company policies, maintenance procedures, and customer standards. This involves utilizing technical knowledge, diagnostic tools, and electronic test equipment to identify and resolve system issues, perform component replacements, and support software and media loading activities. The role requires close collaboration with airline customers and internal stakeholders to maintain aircraft serviceability, minimize operational disruptions, and support on-time aircraft departures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance tasks including component replacement, adjustments, inspections, functional tests, and certification.
- Troubleshoot system failures down to Line Replaceable Units (LRU), cabling, or other aircraft systems, and conduct functional tests post-rectification.
- Execute Cabin Sweeps according to Panasonic's procedures and report findings.
- Conduct Built-in (BITE) and manual tests, and perform software and media loading.
- Clean components and equipment racks/filters if applicable to the contract.
- Complete aircraft documentation in accordance with customer-specific requirements.
- Ensure timely escalation and coordination with the Lead or Supervisor regarding any problems in the assigned aircraft area.
- Communicate and interface effectively with customers.
- Certify all completed work as applicable under a company-issued authority and governing regulations.
- Work on other aircraft equipment as assigned, based on aircraft type.
Administrative Duties
- Assist in the management of airside inventory, including cycle counting, packaging, and shipping.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, health and safety, and tool care.
- Complete accurate maintenance documentation and inventory-related activities.
- Adhere to the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned by immediate Supervisor or Management.
Candidate Requirements
Candidates for this role should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience and demonstrate the ability to apply professional concepts while adhering to company policies and procedures to resolve various issues. The role typically involves receiving detailed instructions on all work.
- Must have the legal right to work in Saudi Arabia through nationality, visa, or work permits.
- Ability to pass extensive security and background checks.
- Hold a valid driver’s license and be able to meet the requirements of the airport authority for access and vehicle operation on their premises.
- Possess manual dexterity to grasp and work with tool parts and equipment.
- Ability to climb and work from a ladder or platform.
- Capable of sitting, standing, bending, or twisting for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment and Conditions
- Ability to work a rotating shift roster that spans 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
- Operate under extreme weather conditions and in confined spaces for extended periods.
- Cope with environmental conditions which may include exposure to congestion and varying noise levels.
- May require both international and domestic travel, up to 25% of the time, to other line station locations to provide relief as required.
