About Guthmi Group and the Role
Guthmi Group is seeking a dedicated Product Manager to join its team in Makkah, with operations spanning Jeddah and Makkah. This full-time role is central to managing product lifecycles and optimizing inventory processes within the group. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring efficient product flow and minimizing lost sales opportunities.
Core Responsibilities
The Product Manager will oversee critical aspects of product management, from order quantity decisions to stock liquidation strategies. Key duties include:
- Deciding the order quantity for each SKU based on sales performance, stock cover, past lost sales opportunities due to stockouts, future events, peak and low seasons, and current/future catalogue production and distribution plans.
- Determining the life cycle of each SKU by analyzing performance curves, demand and supply dynamics, and supplier status.
Inventory and Cost Management
This role involves meticulous management of product costs and minimum order quantities (MOQs) to ensure operational efficiency and profitability.
- Maintaining a comprehensive tracker (Excel sheet) and system for the cost and MOQ of each collection/SKU per supplier.
- Negotiating cost and MOQ with suppliers in response to changes or new requirements.
Supply Chain Process Oversight
The Product Manager will ensure smooth execution of procurement processes and strategic management of stock levels.
- Ensuring Purchase Requisitions (PR) and Purchase Orders (PO) are forwarded to suppliers with adequate lead time.
- Verifying that Proforma Invoices (PI) and POs align regarding quantity, cost, payment terms, shipment dates, and other conditions.
- Securing a signed copy of the PO from the supplier for record-keeping and confirmation.
- Developing and implementing stock liquidation plans for old inventory, including establishing cutoff dates for terminal stock.
- Obtaining board approval to sell old stock to wholesalers at clearance prices and making provisions for obsolescence.
Required Qualifications
Candidates should possess a strong educational background and relevant professional experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of experience in Logistics, Production, and Planning.
Essential Skills
The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in key software and critical thinking abilities.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
